Final Evaluation

Photomontage
I had many attempts at my photomontage with some of them being humerous including silly pictures of beer cans and swings. That being said, i am very happy i have done a photomontage which i can be proud of. I used a picture of myself and then used pictures of the internet to add to it. I then used the stamp tool and utilised photoshops wide choice of colours to complete my work.

Joiner
I feel this was not done well compared to my montage as i only took pictures of my bedroom when i could of tried to be a bit more adventurous and perhaps more challenging by using the outdoors. I think if i had done that my joiner would have been much improved. Although i put my images together and it looks like my room i dont get the feel it is as good as what it could have been so overall i am dissappointed in my joiner.

Stop Motion Animation
I feel my stop motion went well as although it took a long time to do and get all the pictures and cut outs i needed, it was worth it in the end. I had great fun trying stop motion animation out and i would like to repeat it in the future. I had to make sure with my animation that everyhing was in the correct order or else it would have gone horribly wrong. I also enjoyed putting the sound effects on my animation as it makes it more realistic. Overall i am happy at my attempt at stop motion animation.

Stop Motion Examples

I absolutely love the rubix cube stop motion as i think it looks fantastic as you can see the full turn of each row of cubes.

Hannah Hoch

Hannah Hoch was a photomontage artist born in 1889 and died in 1978. Hoch was a pioneer of the artform that became known as photomontage. Many of her pieces point out the faults of beauty culture, comparing reality to depictions of the 'neue frau' in magazines. Her works from 1926 to 1935 often depicted same sex couples, and women were once again a central theme in her work from 1963 to 1973. Hoch also made strong statements on racial discrimination. Her most famous piece is Schnitt mit dem Küchenmesser DADA durch die letzte weimarer Bierbauchkulturepoche Deutschlands ("Cut with the Dada Kitchen Knife through the Last Weimar Beer-Belly Cultural Epoch in Germany"), a critique on Weimar Germany in 1919. This piece combines images from newspapers of the time re-created to make a new statement about life and art in the Dada movement. I gathered this information from wikipedia.

Match Box

This image has not been edited as i thought the lighting seemd to match the mood of the image. I took this the other day and it came out much better than expected. I then decided to edit it on photoshop. I played about with filters and selected different parts of the image to change to different colours. I used orange and blue to contrast each other but i kept the orange as i thought it would be similar to the original photo. I selected each part of the photo and the clicked on filters and then chose atistic and then coloured pencils to achieve this look.

Stop Motion Animation

I created my stop motion after taking pictures of Tunbridge Wells and printing them out in A3.I then took a picture of a toy car i had and again printed it out but smaller so it looked proportional to the road. I then used a camera to take a picture each time i move the car slightly. This gives the effect the car is moving by itself and that i have no input to it. I used adobe premiere to edit all my work and to capture it as well. At first, i have my car moving in one direction, forward. Then, after it climbs over the cars, it reverses back to the start. I also used stop and go signs to start and end my piece.

As i had many pictures which i had recorded on premiere, i had to choose which ones i wanted to use tomake sure my animation ran smoothly. I had all my pictures in sequencial order so it made it easier which frames i needed to dispose of. After i had finished with the video, i added sound to it. I used a dvd the school made which has many sound effects to choose from. I chose the start up of a car and the car engine sounds to use as this would work well with my animation. I put them in and it was fairly easy to use and put in line with my video. After i had done this i exported the final animation and uploaded it to my blog.

Photomontage

This is my final photomontage piece. After many poor attempts i feel i have finally grasped the idea on photomontage. I got my idea from an image i saw on Google when i typed in photomontage. It came up with a man in the middle with the clear use of the stamp filter which had been used.

To start off with, i planned some ideas in draft and then found some pictures on the internet. I then took a picture of myself and cropped it until it was just right for my montage. Next i put my image into the center of the blank photoshop screen and put the other images i had found in, such as the musical notes and the itunes icon. Then i put in my background which is the notes of money. I then used the stamp filter, changing the colours as i go along to make different parts of the image stand out.
